What is NauticEd?
NauticEd is a nationally and internationally accredited sailing education platform which keeps Competence at the core of its mission to make sailing and power boating safer and more accessible to everyone. Launched in 2008, NauticEd is still the only sailing educational body recognized by both the US Coast Guard and NASBLA as meeting the American National Standards. Harnessing the power of 21st Century technologies, NauticEd offers comprehensive sailing, power boating, and seamanship theory online through their suite of courses. All NauticEd instructors are experienced American National Standards instructors. We are proud to partner with NauticEd as we continue our mission to bring sailing safety and competence to the greater Chesapeake area.
Methodology
NauticEd brings a new approach to a timeless industry. Perfect for busy schedules and off-season education, study and absorb the art and science of sound seamanship online or in the app through NauticEd’s thorough and comprehensive courses. NauticEd focuses on Competence more than anything else. So while education is a critical component, true competence cannot be achieved without on-the-water practical experience. Once you’ve completed your theory work, come to our facilities in East Port Annapolis where our American National Standards Certified Instructors will guide you through our practical sailing or power boating course which corresponds with the curriculum you selected. This approach allows students to learn and absorb the crucial foundational knowledge at their own pace while maximizing time and experience with on-the-water training.

NauticEd is for everyone who wants to continue to deepen their knowledge and understanding of seamanship, power boating, or sailing. Current Assessments Available
JWorld is in the process of growing our NauticEd offerings. We are happy to offer assessments for those students who have completed the theory and possess at least the requisite minimum on-the-water experience. In the future, we will offer structured NauticEd practical courses in addition to our assessments.
