DESCRIPTION:Fun\, Easy & Exciting – Start Sailing NOW!\nWe want to introduce you to the great sport of sailing!  J World Annapolis’ Three-Hour First Sail group sail makes for a fun excursion and easy\, affordable way to find out if sailing is for you. \nCome for this Three-Hour group sail for a morning or afternoon session and bring your friends\, too.  Step aboard one of our J/80’s and begin your sailing adventure on the Chesapeake Bay.  It even makes for a great double date! \nWho should take this course?\nEVERYONE! Anyone who has ever wondered whether they would like to be a sailor or is interested in seeing Annapolis from the water should join us for this three hour sailing experience. \nPre-requisites?\nNone – we are ready for the complete novice! \nWhat will I learn?\nYou will learn how to identify where the wind is coming from\, how to trim the sails to the wind and steer the boat through fundamental boat handling maneuvers such as tacking and gybing.  The course is built around safety\, fun and learning! \nCertification?\nThe course come with a certificate of completion from J World Annapolis\, which also includes a coupon for discounts on a future course! \nHow will I spend my time?\nAfter a brief introduction and PDF-fitting\, you’ll head straight to the boat where your coach will take you on a guided “tour” of the boat\, and walk you through some basic steps to leave the slip.  And then\, you’re off and sailing! \nWhat should I bring?\nComfortable weather appropriate clothing\, athletic shoes\, and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. \nHow do I register?\nSessions are 3 hours and can be any time from 9am-4pm. DESCRIPTION:Our intermediate level courses are designed for sailors familiar with the basics who are looking to expand their keelboat skills and confidence to move into either cruising or racing.  If you have already completed some sailing education or spent time on the water already\, this course will help you learn to analyze\, adjust and shape your sails for maximum speed in all points of sail. This course brings your keelboat sailing skills to a new level without moving up to a bigger boat.  We employ such innovative techniques as steering with weight and sails to help you learn the “feel” of sailing.  You will rotate among all the positions onboard throughout your course. \nPrerequisites? \nThis course is designed for people who have some keelboat sailing experience and are comfortable on sailboats. \nWhat will I learn? \nYou will learn the finer points of boat handling and sail trim for all points of sail.  For example – upwind\, you will focus on how to adjust the boat’s back stay and jib leads for optimum performance.  Downwind\, you’ll perfect hoisting and trimming a spinnaker as well as how to drive through a gybe with accuracy. \nCertification? \nA Basic Keelboat curriculum and is built into the curriculum\, and you may opt to challenge for the certification by passing the written exam and on-water competencies.  The course also comes with a certificate of completion from J World Annapolis. \nHow will I spend my time? \nThis two-day class runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  You’ll spend some classroom time with lectures to examine pertinent sailing topics\, then spend the remainder of your day out on the water. \nWhat should I bring? \nComfortable weather appropriate clothing\, athletic shoes\, and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. \nPrice:  $625 \nEnroll Now! \n
